Ok, ok, I know that just because I happen to be a writer I tend to take offense to criticism, but this is a bit different.
What do you do when someone wants your job?
Worse, they aren’t even qualified to do what you do. They don’t know what makes people read because they don’t read and who cares about grammar and spelling when you’re ESL, right?
So lets just say you work for a company and in this company you’re in charge of making decisions regarding the type of content needed at any given moment to attract more readership… You, being the crazy dreamer you are, come up with some fantastic ideas, so fantastic that the competition hadn’t (keyword) even thought about it. You joyfully present your ideas, expecting a pat on the back at least and BAM! Shot down.
Why?
No reason really. So being this dumb little puppy aiming to please you increase the intensity and greatness of your ideas and this is when they start ignoring you.
Huh?
You have a talent that in reality very few people can even grasp a corner of. Writing is NOT something everyone can do. Well, let me rephrase that, they can, but not well and sometimes it’s just downright illegible. Let’s face it, you deserve a pat on the back and you deserve some respect. So next time that whoever-they-wannabe tries to throw you under the bus in front of your colleagues. Just remember who you are and move on.
Ah, I feel much better now (deep breath).

That’s right keep telling yourself that. Really the positive self talk is healthy.
